Herb Brown received a J.D. from Southern University Law Center and an LL.M. (legal masters) in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Herb began his career as an associate attorney in the Chicago office of Jenner & Block, LLP. During his time at Jenner & Block, Herb worked in both the tax department and the corporate department. In the corporate department, Herb handled several securities matters including private offerings, Initial Public offerings (IPOs), and general securities compliance and disclosures. In the tax department, Herb worked on general tax planning and compliance including international tax and tax controversy matters.

Herb later worked as a Professor of Law at Southern University Law Center. As a Professor, Herb taught several courses including partnership tax, corporate tax, and constitutional law. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, Herb was named Professor of the Year by the student body.

At Ornstein-Schuler, Herb manages all compliance matters including tax and securities compliance. He also manages the support staff for all other legal affairs such as acquisitions, due diligence, and audits. Herb lives in Atlanta with his dog, Deogi. He enjoys weight lifting, crossfit, traveling, football, and tacos. Herb is actively engaged in working with law schools to assist with preparing recent law school graduates for the Illinois, Georgia, and Louisiana Bar Exams.
