Matt Kaynard received a B.A. from Emory University with honors, a J.D. from the Georgia State University College of Law with honors and an LL.M. (legal masters in tax) from the University of Alabama with honors. Matt began his career as an Attorney and Private Wealth Manager with the Ayco Co., a division of Goldman Sachs in Atlanta, where he provided personal CFO services for Fortune 1,000 executives.

Matt later worked as Tax Counsel at Large & Gilbert, P.C., a mid-size CPA firm in Atlanta, where he oversaw legal matters for the firm. He developed a specialty in creating, implementing and managing real estate partnerships with a focus on investment grade real estate.

Matt has significant experience with structuring and defending conservation easement and fee simple donations.

At Ornstein-Schuler, Matt manages key aspects of company operations and oversees all legal affairs, including tax and securities compliance, acquisitions and due diligence. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Margaux, daughters Helena and Hart, and their spoiled dog (Sadie), traveling to new places, getting in a workout whenever possible, and trying out new local restaurants.  He is actively involved with the Georgia State University College of Law Alumni Council, Georgia State University President’s Circle, and Emory University’s 1836 Society. Matthew currently sits on the Board of Directors/Board of Advisors for Oak Dental Partners, Dental Pitch Brokerage, Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, Inc., Ashley Lanes, and High Rise Beverage Company. Prior charitable endeavors include Big Brothers of Metro Atlanta, the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Night of Hope Committee, and Habitat for Humanity.
